Ms Tooley's Kitchen......

Well I will start off with, a quest for a refrigerator and what it brought me....

So I was on the quest for a lawn mower originally and I was talking with a councilman who said he had one and would bring it by. When he brought it by, I told him that I am looking for a refrigerator and he said I have one if you don't mind third hand. I went with him, over to his house and he showed it to me. I was expecting some avocado green number or modern equivalent but what he showed me was a Philco! He inherited the home from Ms Virlea Tooley Hayes.

Here is the Notation, from when she joined the church, it appears these ledgers may come in handy! Sadly she passed this fall. But her kitchen appliances will live on!

Here I am shoeing the refrigerator and washing machine, back in service! I ended up getting all 1950's Philco Refrigerator, Maytag Wringer Washer, RCA Whirlpool Freezer 11, a enamel "cracked ice" kitchen table and one small metal cabinet. The rest of the cabinets, that matched the small one, a cabinet and the 50's step stool was also there but sadly after sitting for so many years on concrete the bottoms were long ago rusted away.

Unfortunately, the appliances, also have some serious rust but that doesn't keep me from using them! I would love to restore them and put in my kitchen but I haven't yet decided if they are feasible or able to. The refrigerator needs shelves, inner door inner, seal, bottom metal and I have no idea if I could even find replacements. The washer does appear to be complete and solid enough for a restore...That is just a really greasy mess but all the seals are still being sold today. I even have the small apartment size stove on order!

While retrieving the freezer, I seen more vintage stuff that peaked my interests and this chair! He said he hauled away 42 tons of stuff, from the garage but opted to keep the chair....oh I wish I was here for that!...I told him, keep me in mind before he tosses anything else out that is vintage or old...because I love vintage! I used Howard's Feed n Wax with steel wool, to bring a shine back to it. I think its from the early part of 20th century...I am sitting in it now...

Also this week, I discover my third snake! This one I surprised, as much as he did me but I just hung up some clothes and had the vintage bamboo laundry basket in my hands....I scoped him in, and took him down to the creek....
